Your dental implants are strong and reliable dental restorations that can help you have the healthy, functional and beautiful smile you need. However, this doesn’t mean you don’t need to care for your implants regularly. In fact, you need to do all you can to keep your implants in the best shape possible. That way they can help your smile and oral health for a lifetime. So, our dentist, Dr. Chet Hymas, encourages you to clean and care for your dental implants by doing the following things:

-Brush: Brushing can help you have top-notch dental implants because it removes the plaque, bacteria and food particles that cling to them and your other teeth. So, make sure to brush twice a day for two minutes each time. As you do so, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.

-Floss: Floss your teeth once a day, it doesn’t matter when! Flossing is very important because it removes harmful substances from between the teeth and helps you prevent dental issues. To make flossing more convenient, use an easy-to-use flossing tool, like waxed dental floss, water flossers, floss threaders and more.

-Attend your checkups: It’s also very important to attend your checkups every six months. During your appointments, our dental team will deeply clean your implants, teeth, gums and smile and help you avoid major problems. We will also make sure your implants are in tip-top shape.
